Michael & Shannon Goforth
"I think God is calling us to start a church..."
This was how Michael introduced Shannon to the idea of starting a church in Port Austin, and the rest is history. Michael is the lead pastor at Mercy Hill. He holds a Bachelor of Religious Education as well as a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. Currently, he is pursuing his Master of Divinity online at Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. Shannon serves in a variety of ways at the church including singing on the worship team, teaching children's church, and leading women's Bible studies. Michael says that she is the secret behind any of his success as a pastor. |

Josh & Kathryn Slaughter
"Hey Josh, would you be willing to record some music for a new church we want to start in Port Austin?"
This is how Michael introduced Josh to the church, and again, the rest is history. Josh, along with his wife, Kat, decided to join the journey and help start this new church. They have been invaluable to our ministry and serve in a variety of ways at the church, with a special focus on music. Josh leads the worship team at Mercy Hill. He sings, plays piano, writes music, and leads corporate worship for our church. |
